Tollo Chieti family research

Postby SteveDi » 23 Mar 2015, 16:56

Hello, I have been trying to trace my Grandfather's family and having a bit of difficulty. His name is Antonio DiMascio born in 1893 in Tollo, Chieti Italy. I know he came into the U.S. in 1912. I have his fathers name as Carmen but that is about as much as I can get now. I have heard that Tollo got hit pretty hard in WW2 and that may make records hard to come by. Any pointers or assistance is appreciated, thanks!

Typically when the records on microfilm are listed the way they are it means the records were reconstructed. What this means is that if your ancestor was NOT in Italy after WW2, his record would not have been reconstructed, since they had to do the declaration personally.
You would probably have more luck contacting the parish church, assuming their records survived the war.
