Primus' of Cleulis

Postby monica65 » 08 Aug 2005, 16:41

Greetings to everyone. This is my first post to this forum. I am looking for information on my family (Primus). I do have some history but would like to expand my tree if possible. I am definitely willing to share what I have.

My grandfather (Lodovico Primus) came to the USA in 1913, so I am looking for info about both family living in the USA and in Italy.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Monica

Have you found you him on the 1920 and 1930 US census? Do you have his immigration record? Do you know what town in Italy he was from?

Unusal name.
1920 Census
Name: Lodovico Primus
Age: 39 years
Estimated birth year: abt 1881
Birthplace: Italy
Race: White
Home in 1920: Killingworth, Middlesex, Connecticut

I will post the image later if you do not have it. His naturalization status is Pa which means he has filed his declaration of intent or first papers. Do you have any of his naturalization paperwork?

just Vadeb, yes, is unusual name, why is latin: meaning "first"(Primus latin=Primo italian=First english); so in the past, PRIMUS was an first name that with the time become as surname... as already saying, is FIRST/Primo , and meaning "first son born" ... hugs, suanj
