Lanzarone Death record sought, please

Postby BlissIs » 03 Jun 2015, 22:53

Hi All,

Baldasarre and Grazzia Lanzarone may have had two daughters with same given name.

I am having an issue with Mary Lanzarone who married Frank Consoli. In hand, Italian birth record state Maria was born Nov. 18, 1893 in SMB.

Her, as Mary, social security birth date is Sept. 13, 1898. All of the census data backs up her about 1898 birth. In the 1910, 1930 and 1940 census it says she was born in New York. The 1915 and 1920 census has her born in Italy. I have not found a travel or naturalization record for Mary.

Please send possible Italian Death record for a Maria Lanzarone born SMB on Nov. 18, 1893 to Baldassare and Grazia.

It looks like another female child born on Sept. 13, 1898 in New York was named after her deceased predecessor.
Grazzia, her mother, left Naples Feb. 28, 1898, arriving in NY Mar. 17, 1898. Maybe she was pregnant?

I must add a noted trend of our Lanzarone women altering their years of birth to appear younger, but not month and day of birth.

Kindly advise.

Many, many thanks,
BlissIs
You guys are great!

You are correct about the death of their first Maria Lanzarone...

Here is her death act (#80)
She died in May 1897 at age 1 year 6 months. (so this child was born about November/December 1895)
Parents: Baldassare Lanzarone and Grazia Zummo

Either the Maria Lanzarone who died in 1897 was their 2nd child with the name or the practice of Lanzarone women underestimating their age started very young.

Here is the birth of the above Maria Lanzarone... born October 1895.
She appears to be the second "Maria" born to this couple.
Father: Baldassare Lanzarone
Mother: Grazia Zummo
Birth on 30 October 1895.

AND the birth of the first Maria Lanzarone born to the couple in November 1893, as you said.
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... ,349552002

I searched the death records for 1893, 1894, 1895 and 1896, but have not found the death of the first Maria :-(

Great sleuthing, Tessa and Hi Carubia! Thanks to both.

I cannot translate. May I have exact date of death for Maria #2, and was there a cause listed, perhaps?

Funny, Maria #3, born in USA is first Lanzarone female without a birthdate alteration of year.

Is Maria #1's lack of death record unusual or....?

Gratefully,
BlissIs

There was a Maria Lanzarone listed in the 1894 death acts, but she was 80 years old!

BTW - I checked every Lanzarone in those death acts just in case the clerk entered the wrong given name in the index... :D

Hey, maybe that 80 yr. old is a clue to the rest of the ancestry....hmmmm

Thanks so much for checking all Lanzarone surname listings. I believe you read my mind!

Many thanks, Tessa!
