Morro - US Immigration

Postby ebailey » 04 Jul 2015, 17:42

Trying to find Joseph Guiseppe Morro (dob 1863-1864) immigration records. Immigration took place 1893ish per census. Immigration would have taken place into the New York area as that was place of residence for entire life. Immigrated from Italy.

He was married to Maria Marianna Morro Grillo (29 September 1869 – 19 November 1946)

Have not noticed a death record in New York, but maybe I missed it.

Please advise.

REgarding a death record.... Could they have moved to Eastchester?
Could this be a 1930 Census for the couple?
Perhaps he dies in Westchester County?

Thanks. Yes, this set. Came across it earlier. Ernest is my Grandfather, so feel confident in the information provided.

This is awesome! Computer did not pick up the Carmine=Charles translation, so always disregarded. John/Guillermo has not been recalled by Mom, so was not putting including the 1910 info either. Thanks suanj!

Carmelo... and Carmine, having same meaning in Italy, but different spelling...
Carmelo was the oldest son... he and Lucia was born in Italy.. In USA Giuseppe and Mariannina had a son Carmine named, so maybe for this reason changed the Carmelo first name in Charles:

Carmine Ferdinando Morra

New York, New York City Births

Name: Carmine Ferdinando Morra
Event Type: Birth
Event Date: 15 Jul 1902
Event Place: Manhattan, New York, New York, United States
Gender: Male
Race: White
Father's Name: Giuseppe Morra
Father's Birthplace: Italy
Father's Age: 38
Mother's Name: Mariannina Grillo Morra
Mother's Birthplace: Italy
Mother's Age: 33
I cannot find Giuseppe arrival... until now...
best,

Thanks very much for the assistance. As mentioned, was not connecting the quasi-unknown "dots" especially with the Italian name translation. Marianna's (Mariannina Grillo Morra) Father is Raymond Grillo and her Mother is Jenny Alesanda if it connects any other Morra connections.

Still searching for immigration for Giuseppe (Joseph Morro) Morra.

#180 on this list...

Seems annotation mentions staying with Angelo (brother) 62 Mulberry Street?

could this be correct?
