Hi Tessa, My gr Grandfather was Nicola Marini b.June 30 1865? Polesio. My gr Grandmother was Mary Poli b.August 5 1861? I have no confirmation as to any dates. I have the parents of Nicola as Domenico Marini (June 9 1793?- January 19 1887?) and Laura Marcucci (August 19 1825?-March 4 1892?) I do have confirmation as to the family being from Polesio and Nicola being my Grandfathers Father, all other info has been supplied from a distant cousin that I have found. I believe Nicola and Mary may have daughters Elvira (b.November 21 1891) and Emma? (b.September 4 1899). I speak no Italian and am really in over my depths in this and would appreciate any guidence. I have been trying to get a lead on this branch of my family for a few years and only this past year confirmed the village. Thank you for your response.

Unfortunately, these limited online records can be viewed only at your nearest LDS Family History Center AND... according to the Family Search Catalog, they are not available on microfilm for viewing.

There are some records at this site... but also limited.

You may need to write directly to the Comune of Ascoli Piceno to request records...
Make it very clear that your ancestor was from the frazione of Polesio, give as much information as you can, and include a photo id and your email address with your request. Send no $$$.

That is wonderful Tessa! You have helped me so much, Thank you! My Uncles middle name was Valentine and my Fathers Nicola...now I can see where those names came from :) I've worked at my genealogy for about 7 years but am very intimidated by International records, as I am learning more about Italy I would like to see where my family came from and who we are/were. Thank you again my friend.
