Hello, Does this document read 28 Dec 1842 even though it's the Alligati 1862?
Is the Alligati just additional records?

Thank you as always, Marlene

It reads milleottocento sessanta due – 1862 – 28 December 1862.
Yes, allegati (also known as processetti) are the package of documents required to be filed by the intended bride and groom before their marriage could take place. The package of documents included their respectivel birth records, any death records of previous spouses if applicable, the couple's parents birth and death (where applicable) records, and sometimes documentation on earlier generations might be included, and various other documentation as applicable.
Allegati/processetti can be a real goldmine for a family history researcher. It always pays though to work backwards and find the original documentation because there can sometimes be errors made in the extracts of these records presented.

There are sometimes allegati for other types of records, not just marriage records. For example, for deaths that occurred in another town, you sometimes will find allegati included with the Part II death records in the town of residence that contain the original death cert from the town where the death occurred.

Yes, carubia! I have been going though them one by one! No index!
