Translation of side notation on Attdi di Nascita, etc.

Postby mjclayton1 » 30 Aug 2015, 19:32

The attached link is for Rafaello Saisi (DOB 19 Aug 1877):

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... ,350142402

The first side notation shows him marrying a "Gioconda Lecchesi" on 5 Nov. 1900. The second side notation baffles me. It's only about ten (10) words, but can someone please translate the handwriting for me? Something about a "sposa____" with "Pas __ ina(?) Lucchesi" in Gallicano? On 21 Aug 1919? Did Raffaello get married again??

Raffaello came to America twice:

17 Aug 1907 (Line 12):

and 1 Dec 1913 (Line 30):

At first, I questioned the 1907 record, as there are no (known) family ties to the Boston, MA area. Well, at least "known" to me (which, in retrospect, I suppose isn't saying very much). Nevertheless, the 1913 manifest references the fact that Raffaello visited previously - in "1907-1908". Seems pretty solid this is the same person, no?

The 1913 record is 100% a hit, i.e., based on who he was visiting ("his wife Gioconda") and also at his brother's (Giuseppe) address on Ivy Ave. in San Francisco, CA. This latter stuff is a certain "hit."

Appreciate any and all opinions here...

I believe that both the ship's manifests are abt same person... in the trip of 1907, he no stated abt Gioconda next of kin in Gallicano, but just own father... however travelling with a Lucchesi and joining at Emilio Lucchesi, so I believe that is the right Raffaello, because Gioconda maiden name was Lucchesi also, as the second wife, maybe they was sisters...

Thanks for the extra insight, suanj. Very much appreciated.

Oh, and it seems that I made a typo on Luccchesi ("e" in stead of "u"), but thanks also for pointing that out...
