Records for Salerno?

Postby sandyman720 » 01 Sep 2015, 16:37

Does anyone know if and when the records for Salerno will be available online?

It seems that some of the smaller towns in Salerno are available but not the city of Salerno.

Thanks!

Matt

At the National Archives in Salerno I was told that Family Search digitized all their registers. So, it's only a matter of time, but who knows? Keep fingers crossed.

Wow Marty thank you so much! This is the first I have heard of these military records. I was able to find that my gr. gr. grandfather had 5 brothers which was news to me. I also was able to find the names of another generation from another line.

Now I just need to wait to see when the civil registrations will be digitized!

Thanks-

Matt

They said FS digitized ALL BMD records on behalf of the "Ministero dei Beni Culturali" (project "Antenati" at antenati.san.beniculturali.it). So, if records for Caggiano and Pertosa were available there (for instance, I see they have enrollment lists for such towns), they did.
