Alzano

Post by MelanieSmethurst »

Hi all, I'm searching for information on the surname Alzano. My 3rd Great Grandfather's name was Michael William Frederick Alzano born 1829 in Pressburg Hungary to Augustine Alzano and Catherine Mondouck? He moved to England and married in Kent to an English woman in 1854, then moved to Australia with her in 1857. Family stories say that his father was Italian and his mother Greek. Would anyone have an idea as to where I could search for more info? His marriage certificate does not tell me much other than his father was a publican and he was a waiter. When he emigrated to Australia he listed his father as being deceased and his mother still alive in Hungary. Thanks in advance :D

It is hard to say if really exist a connection with Italy, because it is necessary to try in hungarian records before of 1829... to try back, starting from Michael William Frederick Alzano born 1829 in Pressburg Hungary .. and to search in the previous generations the italian connection..
Pressburg 1828 census is here https://familysearch.org/search/catalog ... %20Library
