Rhode Island 1925 Census

Postby James Graham » 30 Oct 2015, 20:45

I have been trying to locate a Raffaele Di Prete and his wife Maria.
She passed in 1925 and the address is listed as 40 Alto St., Cranston, RI.

I can find the odd numbered homes on Alto St. for the '25 census but not the even numbered.
Any hints on how to find the evens?

Here is a link for the odd numbered side.

Thanks,
James

Hello James,

I searched 100 images on either side of the one you posted for the 1925 Census...
I found one page with some even numbers on Alto St., but they were in the 100s and there was no Di Prete there. I will go back and find that image # if you want to take a look. (EDIT: the image number is 445)
However, I have not found any two digit- even numbered addresses on Alto St. :-(

The 1925 US Directory for Cranston has a Ralph Di Prete residing on Cranston St.
A 1935 RI Census has a Ralph Di Prete at 1279 Cranston St.

Is the 40 Alto St. address that you have found on the death certificate?

Thanks Tessa,

There are two Ralph Di Pretes. One on Cranston St., with wife Clara.
The one on Alto St. disappears after his wife's death.
I believe he was born 2 years after Maria but that is only going by the 1915 RI census
Here is a copy of Maria's Death Certificate with 40 Alto listed.

Thanks for that clarification :-)

So then, this 1925 RI Census listing is for the OTHER Ralph Di Prete who was married to Clara...
Address is at 77 Princess St., Cranston
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MVWB-6XR

AND... same family (NOT your Raffaele) in 1922 directory at 1279 Cranston
http://interactive.ancestry.com/2469/15 ... sePUB=true

HOWEVER.. This could be your Raffaele in the 1922 Directory.
Residing at 583 Union Avenue. Occupation - laborer
http://interactive.ancestry.com/2469/14 ... sePUB=true

AND in 1920 Directory residing at 574 Union AVe (also residing there is Luigi Di Prete)

*** Still searching the Census images in 1925 Census for Cranston, Ward 3 :-)
