Molina and Casali families: Morfasso, Piacenza

Post by marie5890dm »

My great grandfather, Tomaso Molina, born 1877 in Morfasso, Piacenza or Lanchanca? and immigrated in 1909 to settle in South Glastonbury, CT. His wife Maria (Casali), also born in Morfasso, Piacenza, and daughter, Angela, would follow him in 1910.

At least this is my understanding. Looking for more information, or guidance, on where to go looking for more information.

Maria Casali's father's name was Guiseppe (Joseph)

Welcome to IG website
The online records of Morfasso are limited so I would rent the Family History Library microfilms of Morfasso that can be viewed and copied at a FHL center near you
Registri dello stato civil,Morfasso, Piacenza 1806-1929 Births, marriages, banns, marriage documents, deaths including indexes. I would start with the film Nati, matrimoni, morti 1868-1883; Indici decennali (nati, matirmoni, morti) 1876-1885 film#

Hello: My name is David Casali and we have lived in Glastonbury, CT for 32 years. When we arrived in 1984, I knew of other Casali's in town, (a somewhat rare name in the USA), and I believe Angela and Maria were their names. I believe I have a copy of one of their obituaries that I have kept and would be happy to send it to you. By the way, I have traced my Italian ancestors back to the year 1739, all living in the Morfasso area. Specifically Sperongia, a small hamlet called Labe and a hillside called Brandolino. My Casali family lived in Brandolino for hundreds of years making the research less time consuming. If you send me your info, I will did up the obit and send it to you.
