Ok. I am at the point of obtaining certificates for my Abbamonte family members who were born, married, died in Salvitelle.
Is it so that each one cost around $100????
Is there a good book anyone can recommend to learn how to do this correctly?
thank you.

Obtaining birth, death and Marriage Certificates
Re: Obtaining birth, death and Marriage Certificates
Tavis Cole "Italian Genealogy Records" is a wonderful explanation of Italian records. Not sure where the $100 per record is from. Also, if your records are avaialbe on microfilm from LDS, they would only cost about $4.00 a roll of microfilm and the copy charge.
Re: Obtaining birth, death and Marriage Certificates
If you have access to an LDS Family History Center the microfilm will only cost you $3.50 and a copy of the certificate is between .10-.25 a copy. I have done this many times. If you need to know where a center is, go to lds.org

As everyone here told you, the Family History Center does have microfilm for the town of Salvitelle. The film does cost about $3.50 a roll depending on your location. The town of Salvitelle only has 2 rolls of film and the years are from 1866-1910. There you could find Birth, Marriage, and Death Acts of your ancestors.

Now for any documents you want prior to 1866, you'll have to write to the town itself.
Here is the address.

If you write to Italy, make sure you enclose 2 International Reply Coupons which cost about $1.80 each. They use this for return postage.
And a good book to get is The Genealogist's Guide to Discovering Your Ancestors by Lynn Nelson
I hope this helps
