Ettore Paccasassi in Akron, Ohio

Postby James Graham » 15 Jan 2016, 15:57

There is an Ettore in my family tree and this Ettore in Akron could be the one.
Born in 1888, I figure in Teramo or somewhere in Southern Marche, moves to the US and dies in Akron in 1973.

Two pieces are missing. His exact birth comune and the 1940 Census.
His wife is Santa, surname possibly Palmerino, passed in 1934 in Akron.
Children Elise born in Italy, Cero "James", Mary Jane, Angelo "William", Daniel, Alvin, Alfred, Roland, Adeline "Jessie".
Elise, Daniel and James go missing in the '30's. Except Daniel pops up on Ettore's WWII draft card in '42.

This is an arrival for him. It looks like he is going to his brother, Giuseppe, in Altoona, PA

I also found this record but can't make it out. It is their arrival record but their names are crossed out.

Can someone piece it together?
Thanks

Marriage "Allegati" of Ettore and Santa, 1909 Valle Castella (Teramo)
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... cc=1947829.

Sometimes an entire line is crossed out, not because the passenger was not on board, but because they are officially listed on another page of the manifest.

Awesome, Thanks.

I just did find him in the 1940 Census but the last name was way off.

May I ask for a clarification on these records?

I have Ettore DOB as 30 July 1988.
His father Domenico is 48yo? at the time.
Mother, Angela Carbon is dead on 4 Aug 1891. Can't tell how old she is at time of death.

Santa born on 30 March 1891
Father is Orazio age 40
Mother is Angela, but that is as far as I get with her.

Also are the certificato di miserabilità, poverty records?

Angela Cerboni died at the age of 49
Santa was born on 28 March 1891.

The certificate of poverty was required when the future spouses were poor and couldn't pay the fees necessary to file the marriage documents.
