Hi Jastroll.

Would you know what the given name was?

Where did he settle in the USA? What was the name of his wife? Children...

Map of Villa Rossi
http://www.fallingrain.com/world/IT/0/Villa_Rossi.html

There are a couple of Stralli's coming from the town of Castelli which is just south of Villa Rossi...

Thanks for the info so far. Everything helps. My great grandfather was named Angelo Livio Stralli. He was born around 1886 in Villa Rossi. I know he married when he arrived in the US. Not sure of the year. He married Clara Mae Dunlap. I know of at least 2 kids. George McClellan Stroll and Levi Stroll. That's about all I know. I can't seem to find any US records on Stralli. It appears that my great grandfather changed it to Stroll as soon as he entered Boston. My grandfather told me all of this info. last week.
Can you help anymore?

Thanks again

Hi again,

Maybe he had a brother Giacinto??

http://ellisisland.org/search/shipManif ... 2284100344

On this manifest, Giacinto is off to join Livio in Cornwall, PA

First Name: Giacinto
Last Name: Strolli
Ethnicity: Italy, Italian South
Last Place of Residence: Castelli
Date of Arrival: Sep 01, 1906
Age at Arrival:  18y    Gender:  M    Marital Status:  S
Ship of Travel: Indiana
Port of Departure: Naples
Manifest Line Number: 0028
--------------------------------

Keep asking your Grandfather questions... write everything down... and ask him about Angelo Livio's siblings, whether he lived in PA at one time... One more question...

Did wife Clara go by the name Carry?

Hi There.

The Family History Center has microfilm for the town of Castelli and these films include records for the towh of Villa Rossi. You can order and rent the film for $3.50 a roll.

Here is the link for the film numbers
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... =1&last=50\\

Here is the link to find the nearest Family History Center.
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... et_fhc.asp

If you still want to write, the address above that Ricbru is correct but here is link that will help you translate you letter into Italian.
http://www.circolocalabrese.org/resourc ... civile.asp

However, it would be much easier to find the records yourself, and a good book to get is "a Genealogist's Guide to Dicovering your Ancestors", by Lynn Nelson.

Also, for the census information, here is the information so that you can find them.

Here is the image source for the 1920 census that Suanj gave you.
Image Source: Year: 1920; Census Place: Harrisburg Ward 1, Dauphin, Pennsylvania; Roll: T625_1558; Page: 3A; Enumeration District: 58; Image: 30.

Here is the 1930 census information
Name: Levi Stroll
Age: 43
Estimated birth year: abt 1887
Birthplace: Italy
Spouse's Name: Carrie Stroll
Home in 1930: Harrisburg, Dauphin, Pennsylvania
Image source: Year: 1930; Census Place: Harrisburg, Dauphin, Pennsylvania; Roll: 2026; Page: 11A; Enumeration District: 14; Image: 121.0.

Hope this helps,
Trish

Thank you all so much for the help. My grandfather suffered a massive stroke and I can't ask him any questions now. I still going to try to research this. I went to the Italian Origin Search at:
matera.site.voila.fr/M...origin.htm
but I can't read Italian. Can someone help?

My name is Tammy (Strally) Lyons. I was born in Seneca Falls, NY. I am looking for info on the Strally, Stralli, Stroll, Strolli family as well. My great grandfather George Strally was born in Italy in 1890 and immigrated to the US in 1907. My father told me that George Strally had a brother Levi who lived in PA. I think we may be cousins. I've found records on Antonio Stralli, Alfonso Stralli, Angelo Livio (Levi) Stroll and Giacinto Strolli who I think were George's brothers. I have a cousin who has been to Villa Rossi, Italy near Castelli where he found headstones with the surname "Stralli". Have you found out any new information? I've emailed my cousin and asked him for pictures. If I get them I'll post again and let you know.
