Searching for Gadaleta info

Postby MauroMags » 08 Oct 2005, 00:21

Hi,

I'm looking for tips on how to further my search for info about my great-great grandfather

Corrado Gadaleta

I know he died in Molfetta, Bari in 1919

I'm interested in finding a listing of his children and also who his parents were

thanks,
Mauro

There is microfilm available for this town 1809-1910 so you should be able to find his children. YOu will have to write to the town for his death act.

Here is a post by Trish on how to use the microfilm:

You can locate his children by requesting a CERTIFICATO DI STATO DI FAMIGLIA STORICO (family certificate showing the date and place ofbirth oof each family member) and also request his Estratto di Nascita which willinclude his parents names (long form birth record)

Go to www.angelfire.com/ok3/pearlsofwisdom/it ... tters.html

Send to UFFICIO ANAGRAFE (census office) for the Family certificate which maybe fee based while his birth record can be requested fgrom the UFFICIO DI STATO CIVILE wshich is free of charge. Both are sent to the address under MUNICIPIO found by going to
www.tuttitalia.it/puglia/15-molfetta and scrolldown to Municipio. =Peter=

Your sending me a private e-mail and telling me that Molfetta records are not avilable prior to 1944 is confusing What is private about asking where do you find records prior to that 1844 period?

The Mortmon records show 1809 as trhe begninng date of their records and are on micrfofilm at the nearest family history library. Go to www.familysearch.org for the location. =Peter=
