Ungari in Valenzano

Postby forestmaiden71 » 11 Apr 2016, 03:28

Hello! I'm looking for any information I can get on Nicola Donato Ungari. His parents were Giuseppe Antonio Ungari and Maria Rosa Michela Donata Lonigro. He was born 30 September 1845 in Valenzano, Bari, Puglia, Italy and Christened 1 October 1845. I'd love to find out if he was married, whom his children were, and when he died.
Thanks so much for any help!

Thanks so much!

Ok, now I have a question...I was poking around with his son - Pietro. I believe I found his wife...but I'm not sure. Is it possible to see if Pietro, son of Nicola and Maria, married a Chiara?

Oh! Is that another son? Does it have a birth date for him or his bride? (or ages works)

Also- for Pietro and Chiara's record, her maiden name was Ungari? Is that what I'm reading? Does it list her parents by chance? Or her age?

Thanks so much for your help!!!

marriage of Pietro and Chiara
Yes, the bride's surname was the same as the groom's. Dated Jan 18, 1902. He was age 21. She was age 18 b. in Valenzano, daughter of Andrea Ungaro and Rosa Pietrantonio

marriage of Giuseppe Ungari and Maria Lomoro
Sept 7, 1893
Giuseppe was age 22 (I haven't had a chance yet to look for his birth record); Maria Lomoro was age 20, daughter of Michele Lomoro and Giulia Lamorgese

birth of Giuseppe July 14, 1871; his mother Margherita del Re of Pietro was age 24, father Nicola Ungari of Giuseppe, age 26-record #70 starts bottom left; his marriage date appears in the margin

death record of Andrea Donato Ungari, father of Chiara (record #73) top left

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... cc=2043445

He died on Sept 26, 1917. He was age 82 and 7 days. The son of dec Nicola Ungari and dec Maria Campanelli. He was the widower of Rosa Pietrantonio.

The first declarant is a Nicola Ungari age 72, possibly yours??? (born abt 1845)

The online death records go to 1927, with the year 1910 missing, but I couldn't find death records for either your Nicola Ungari or his wife, Margherita del Re.

Oh my goodness! This helps so much! Yes! I was able to figure out that Pietro married a cousin! His grandfather and her (Chiara's) father were brothers. So it makes sense her father in law knew and reported the death of her father. SO interesting! Thanks again! This is great!

This is a link to the allegati records for the marriage of Pietro Ungari and Chiara Ungari

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1 ... cc=2043445

image 41 is an extract of Pietro's birth record
image 43-on the left bottom is a certificate of nullatenenza

the couple was not charged, as they were poor

Nullatenenza
This is a certificate of non possession of property. It basically states that they are not taxpapers on public records of this town. They don't possess assets or goods of any kind. They are not involved in industry. They live with the daily struggle of using their own arms. In other words, they are paupers, or destitute, as they don't possess anything.

on the right hand page of image 43 is an extract of the birth act of Chiara Ungari-her father Andrea of deceased Nicola was age 48 at the time of her birth. She was born on Sept 29, 1883 at 9:15 P.M. in the house at #5 via Ognissanti (this street still exists in the town). Her mother was Rosa Pietrantonio, a donna di casa, housewife.

The other images are the marriage publications which have the same info as their marriage record which you already have

image 32 is the extract of his birth act-you already have the original

image 33- right hand side is the extract of Maria Lomoro’s birth act-born June 1, 1873 in the house on via Molini. Her father Michele, son of Rocco Lomoro, was age 27. Her mother Giulia Lamorgese, daughter of Michele, was age 22

Their marriage publications are the next images.

No certificate of poverty with this couple's marriage package.

Marriage of Rosa Ungari and Michele Cimmarusti

The first link below is the marriage allegati. Here's the problem. I don't know if she is part of your family or not.The extract of her birth act is with these records. It reads that she was born on Jan 25, 1883 to Antonio Ungari, son of Giuseppe, age 35, and his wife Margherita del Re. The original record is also posted below and reads the same way. However, the marriage publications in this group all have Nicola as her father and there aren't any corrections in these records that I can find. I looked to see if I could find a marriage record of a Margherita del Re to an Antonio Ungari, but I can't find one. So I really don't know what to tell you.

Here is the original birth act of Rosa Ungari in 1883 confirming parents as Antonio Ungari and Margherita del Re.
http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... ewsIndex=0

FYI - the Pietro whose birth in 1875 was listed by Erudita :-) above is NOT the Pietro who was married to Chiara.
Here is the death of Pietro Ungari (b. 1875) on 1 March 1878 (record #20)

Here is the link to the original birth act of the second Pietro Ungari in November 1879.
Father is listed as Nicolantonio... perhaps he came to be known as Antonio rather than Nicola???

I posted the original birth act in my post above too. I just don't understand the name Nicola on the marriage publications. Also no marriage record for an Antonio and a Margherita del Re to be found.
