Diana Rappa

Postby Lisapeters65 » 30 Apr 2016, 20:13

There's a Diana Rappa (1-26-1883 to 10-8-1953) that I need to figure out if she is related to the Rappa's in my family tree.
Here is what I know: (her birthdate and death date above), she was born in Italy, she married Salvatore Petruso and had a daughter Anna and a son James.
*Her father's name was Joseph Rappa.
She lived in Meadville PA on Hemlock St, just a couple houses away from my great grandparents Vincenzo Rappa and his wife Catherine (otherwise known as Concetta, or Maria Antonia Salvia)
I'm thinking since she was neighbors with my relatives who were also Rappa's (later known as Rapp's) but I don't know how.
I don't think she was the sister of my great grandfather Vincenzo Rappa because his father's name was Domenico.
So, was her father Joseph the brother of Vincenzo's father Domenico Rappa? I don't know. I'd like to know because there are some relatives of hers I met and I'd like to know if they are related to ME!

Thanks for those things @joannsalvo You must be able to read Italian :D
I can't. I can only recognize names sometimes. And in this document I see the name Occhipinti. Do you know what it says there?

Michele Occhipinti was just a witness to the declaration of the birth and presentation of the infant at the town hall. He was 45, a farmer, and the son of deceased Pietro. Witnesses at the town hall were often just that. They usually had no connection to the parties in the record and would get paid for serving in the capacity of a witness.
