Marty, thank you so much for this! I am so glad I found this board! I was banging my head against a brick wall. The Carmelo mentioned above is my great grandfather. I have his birth record and wanted to go back farther. The only difference is on Carmelo's birth record from Molochio, Amato's mother is listed as Teresa di Gaetano.

Are you able to post what you received from Italy. I don't understand why Carmelo's birth record from Molochio, would have Amato's mother listed, and especially as Teresa di Gaetano? (I would suggest that what it might be saying is Teresa (De Maria) di Gaetano which means Teresa (De Maria) of Gaetano (daughter of Gaetano (De Maria).)

Although, even then, it seems odd, because the original birth record that I have posted here for Carmelo has no mention of Gaetano? It's a bit of a mystery.

Angela, I just posted an attachment of the family that I received from Molochio. It seems your posted info is more accurate. Can you please translate the records you posted? You can send in a message if you like. I don't understand Italian, except for online translators.

Sure, I can do that. It will just be the vital details though because I'm starting to run out of time. I'll post them here so that they can be screened in case of error.

Your attachment didn't attach.

I haven't made a start yet because I went off line. We are having a terrible storm here at the moment, lights are flickering and it's chaotic outside. I had a look at your other post. I knew that there had to be more children. So Amato and Teresa had 10 in total. It looks like four may possibly have died though, looking at the repetition of given names.

So the attachment came through? Glad you can make sense of it. Be safe with the storm. We had one earlier. Your help is greatly appreciated. You just know my next question will be about Teresa's siblings. Oh well save that for another day!
