It may be a possibility,, an error in the name:
IS THERE A TRACE OF HIM IN THE CENSUS AFTER, eventually to know where did he born

No, no.. in the census are not the birthplace.. and also on ship's manifest the surname can be mistaken but always recognizable... Lapelosa and Bruscella are 2 surnames different completely... however in the census I not found ....suanj
