Looking for my grandfather

Postby carogers » 28 Jun 2016, 04:38

Greetings!
I'm trying to find history on my grandfather. I know from his WW1 draft registration that he was born in Chiusa Sclafani. Here's what I know:

He was born Carl? Carlo? Careuello? Locascio on 08/sept/1894 in Chiusa Sclafani.
His parents were Anthony (Antonino?) Locascio and Vencenza Giordano
They immigrated in 1897 from Polermo to New Orleans. I can't find anything on ship's manifests.
I can track my grandfather from about 1910 to 1940 in the US using census records but nothing back to Sicily other than the WW1 draft card listing place of birth.
I know that his grandparents were Guiseppi Locascio and Mary Cavlieri? but nothing more on them or where they came from.
If anyone can help, I would be so thankful!

Hi Adelfio
I don't see Carmelo Maria Lo Cascio, but Carmelo Cascio La Mariana, son of Antonino Cascio La Mariana. Cascio Mariana is a surname still existing in Chiusa Sclafani
Ciao
