Latin phrase ex spiritu sancto

Postby Pontiusmaximus » 28 Jul 2016, 23:52

in a number of church records that I have come across, the name on a death record was recorded as (for example) Francesca ex spiritu sancto. What is the contextual meaning of that latin phrase?

Spiritu Sancto is the Holy Spirit (as in third person of the Holy Trinity in Catholicism).
So, I suppose ex spiritu sancto would be "of the Holy Spirit".
Probably a reference to being with the Holy Spirit (in heaven).

I believe that "ex"= from, coming from, emited from...
maybe to write the entire phrase can be helpful to understand the complete meaning....

Just a guess...
Look if in the town -or in the most important town nearby -there was an hospital for abandoned children called "ospedale di Santo Spirito". The deceased was possibly a foundling
