Casherini/Cascarino/Gizzi from Picinisco?

Postby firestorm » 24 Aug 2016, 23:58

Wondering if anyone can help!

I live in Southampton in England but was born in Cheltenham in Gloucestershire where my grandmother settled after leaving Picinisco. Her name was Carmela Cascarino (or possibly Casherini), probably born around the 1880s. She married a Thomas Randell in Cheltenham and died circa 1965. She had a brother called Louis (possibly anglicised from Luigi?) who also came to England and fought during WW1 for the Kent regiment.
I believe that my great grandmother was a Gizzi whose name was possibly Florienza.
I also believe there are another two brothers called Christophe and Domenico Cascarino (Casherini) again born circa 1860s/1870s.
I realise this is a bit airy fairy but if anyone can help or at least give me pointers as I'm new to this, that would be amazing!
Thank you so much in advance
