Surname History and Meaning: Viella

Postby missjessie » 15 Nov 2005, 04:24

Does anyone have any information on the surname Viella? It was my great-grandmother's name and I can't find anything on it.

Also, would it would be pronounced V-ella? or Vy-ella?

Any help you can give me will be great.

Thanks.

Jessie

Viella is very little diffused in Italy, more diffused is VIELLO as also exist Vielli... about the meaning, no record... Viello seems an short shape of Vitello or Vitiello surname, but this is just an speculation...

The pronunciation would be VEE-ELLA.
