Hi tricialynnps,

Can you give us just a bit more information...

What was Anthony's year of birth, his wife's name (maiden if you know), and the names of his children.

Also, please mention which State he lived in.

Have you been able to locate a ships record?

There is info that can be found on Anthony, just need to zero in on the correct one.

Hi, thank you for your reply.

I am just trying to average in on the year of birth for Anthony. Thought I would do this by looking for his wife instead.

Name: Erlene Phillips
Date of Birth: 30 Dec 1914
County: Warren
Mother's Name: Sallie Phelps
State: Kentucky
Volume Number: 130
Certificate Number: 64943
Volume Year: 1914

Is this the correct Erlene?

I am also wondering if Anthony came to the USA as a child with his father Dominic.

WOW! you all are fast, thanks so much for your help. Anthony F. Pangallo is my grandpa and I'll have to check the information about my grandma. And my great-grandfather never came to the USA as far as I know.

Thanks,
Tricia

There are multiple Anthony and Erlene's in the Ancestry.com database...

Unfortunately, the census records that are available through Ancestry.com is up to 1930.

If he was born in Italy (1922) and did not travel to the USA as a child, we will not find a census record for him through Ancestry.com.

Ellis Island records stop at 1924.

There were other ports of entry that can be checked out through Ancestry.com.

I also checked Pier 21 with 0 results. http://www.pier21.ca/ (1928-1971)

You can get information about your grandfather by filing a freedom of information request with the US Immigration and Citizenchip Services. Request a copy of all informaiton they have on him. They should have the information on where in Italy he came from and when and on what vessel he entered the US. Since he died in "recent" years, your request will probably come under their privacy rules. You may have to prove he is deceased (an obit will work) and prove you are a descendant to be entitled to this information. A little extra work, but well worth the effort.

This is his social security informaiton, so you will have that number to include on the request.
ANTHONY F PANGALLO 27 Jul 1922 31 Mar 1989 45176 (Williamsburg, Clermont, OH) (none specified) 286-16-8997

thanks VaDeb, but the children are only 5 in 1930... perhaps is he... also because in Cincinnati also was Joe Pangallo, I think Dominick brother, and the year of imm. was 1906, in the ship's manifest of Joe are that joining Antonino Pangallo cousin in New York... the first destination of this Pangallos( Joe and Dominick) was New York and after moved in Ohio... if are they.... :!: best regards, suanj

So, does that mean that the census posted is your family? As Suanj pointed out to me the ages are off a little. Don't want you to present information to your father from the "wrong" family.
