Nicola Celso - 25 December 1888-30 December 1955

Post by James Graham »

I believe I have exhausted my capabilities on locating anymore information about Nicola.
He arrived to Ellis Island on 29 April 1907, from Marsala with a destination of 36 Minor St., New Haven, CT.
Married Maria Concetta Scavone (born 1896) in July of 1912, location unknown.
He has 7 children and naturalizes 5 October 1934, all in New Haven.
He passes in 1955.

Nicola's mother is Sebastianna Scavone, who I believe is the sister or sister-in-law of Maria Concetta Scavone's father, Antonio Scavone.
Sebastianna arrives on 28 December 1907, going to Minor St., New Haven.
She is listed as a widow upon arrival to America.
Her death is unknown.

Maria Concetta Scavone's father is Antonio. Born 1866-Death between 1930 and 1940.
He arrived in America 30 May 1906.
Maria Concetta's mother is Maria Lentini. Born 1871-Death 14 January 1953
She arrived in America on 4 March 1909 with 4 children.
I assume Antonio and Maria Lentini are married in Italy.
Also I guess, they all hail from Marsala.
And rumor has it Nicola Celso always had changed his surname upon arrival to America but I can't verify that. The believe surname is supposed to begin with a 'B' but I can't confirm.

Ideas?

Is this your Nicola?

I could not find resources online for Marsala, but the Mormons have microfilms.
You might hire some, to be searched at the nearest Latter Day Saints Genealogy Center, and search for Nicola's birth record (as you have his birth date), and work backwards.
