Finding Adoption Papers

Postby Jamiepalma2 » 17 Oct 2016, 18:01

Hi, I am also searching for papers or any documentation for my 4th great grandpa. His name is Rosario Fruttoso born in 1840 I believe in San Filippo Superiore Messina Sicily (this could be wrong). I know that he had his children in San Filippo Superiore. I also know he was in an orphanage and nuns gave him his last name. I know his adopted family had the last name Lorisco. Just looking for any advice or direction in how to learn more about him.
Thanks

Records for the town for the 1840s are found at the first link below. I can't find a record for your Rosario though.

Hi,
I don't know if this record could be helpful, but I found a marriage in San Filippo Superiore on 18 aug 1865 #6 of Rosario LODISCO (no Lorisco) 26 old, carter, son f unknown parents, born in hospital of Messina, marrying to Domenica Caldaciotto, 19 old, worker, born and resident in San filippo superiore, daughter of late Giuseppe and of Grazia Bertini:

it could be the person that you are searching for?
Best regards,
suanj

Thank you for all the replies and taking the time to search for some records! I truly appreciate any help that I receive. I'll make sure to check out all the links that you guys have provided me with. I am excited to see what I can find.

Suanj - I believe that is my Rosario. I know my 4th great grandma's name was Domenica Cadesorto. Ive seen her last name spelled a couple different ways and thats one of the ways. That record is very helpful. Thank you so much for taking the time to find that and translate it for me.

So he may have been born in 1839 or 1840 if he was 26 in 1865. Thats very helpful. Do you think he would have a birth certificate with parents names since he was born in a hospital?
