i'm looking for atti di morte in the comune of san filippo del mela in messina ca.1866-1910. is anyone out there knowlegable as to whether these records are indexed? there are 1236 images for these years. they don't appear to be indexed, either year by year or in 10 year intervals. lds has no information. any help much appreciated.

thanks marty. i'm actually not even sure the deaths for the couple i'm looking for are here. one of several comunes i'm searching in this area.but the time period could have been anytime between 1852(birth of last child i could find when they would have been in their 30s) to 1910 assuming they lived into their 90s.the years 1852-1865 are at the http://www.antenati site.1866-1910 are at the lds site. as there are 1236 images for this time period indexes would make the search a lot easier, especially as its just a shot in the dark. i broke my search down to gualtieri sicamino(where the children of this couple were born),santa lucia del mela(where the couple married),san filippo del mela(where the wife was born),and barcellona pozzo di gotto(where their daughter lived and raised a family). gualtieri sicamino and santa lucia yielded nothing. i wrote to these comunes and these years were checked but i get no response from san filippo del mela. barcellona pozzo di gotto is a much bigger place and its doubtful the civil records office will check out all the years i'm researching.
