Gravestones...

Postby angelab » 04 Mar 2006, 07:36

Hi

A question...

I recently visited the grave of my Great Grandmother in Scotland.

Her maiden name was Volante, and she married a Tamburrini.

I know that this was the only marriage, yet the name Mancini also appeared on her headstone.

Is it a custom to add the maiden name of the mother?

Thanks

Angela
