Carmelo SPADARO or SPATARO - Seeking information

Postby Bette » 08 Mar 2006, 05:40

Carmelo Spadaro (Spataro), my great uncle, was born in Sicily in 1883. He immigrated to South America, most likely Buenos Aires, Argentina, some time before 1911. He got married and had some children. The family lost track of him in the mid 1920's. Would like to have more information on Carmelo and his family in order to complete the family tree. I do not know if his children were male or female. I do not know if he left Argentina and continued on to another location. If you have a Carmelo Spadaro (Spataro) in your family that came from Sicily, I'd like to hear from you.

Wow Bette,

You've been looking for Carmelo for quite a while now. I noticed your postings on the message boards. :o

There's a couple of Spadaro (Carmelo born 1856 and Giovanni Carmelo born 1889) going to Philadelphia. If you like I will post the info.

Nuccia :D

Dear Nuccia,

You are correct. I've been searching for information about Carmelo Spadaro for several years now. It is hard for me to believe that there is no trace of him or his descendants. Of course, it is possible.

I know by looking at the Ellis Island records and the immigration records for Argentina, that there are several Carmelo Spadaro's. Does your information come from the same sources? If not, what is your source?

Bette :)

Dear Trish,
Thank you for your response. The immigrant you have posted may be my great uncle or he may be the Carmelo Spodaro (misspelled in the database). It was my understanding that he was single when he left Sicily and married in Argentina, but I have no proof. Also, thanks for sending the links. I'll check them out.
Regards,
Bette
