Getting started: BONFIGLIO/BONOFIGLIO/GAUDIO

Postby bonfig1 » 10 Mar 2006, 23:32

I don't have much information on my great grandfather Frank Bonfiglio who at one point spelled his name Bonofiglio. I believe he was born in Italy somewhere in Campania. I know at some point he immigrated to the U.S. and lived in Adrian, Michigan and that my grandfather, whose name was Dewey Bonfiglio, was born there. Dewey's birth name I believe was Fiarenus (sic?) Bonofiglio (?) but he changed that at some point. I know he had a brother Paul and sister Anna, who both lived in northwestern Ohio. Frank's second wife was a young bride from Italy named Caroline/Carolina Gaudio. After Frank died, Caroline married Dewey. They had one son, James Dewey Bonfiglio, my father. At this point they lived in Defiance, Ohio. My father James passed away April 9 of last year.
Any other Bonfiglio's out there that have this info in their family tree?

Hi again,

This "might be" you Frank in the 1910 census, with a wife Teresa. There was a Robert, Mary, and John for children. And his brother, Louie with his wife and son were living with them. If this is them, they were married for 14 years at the time.

Name: Frank Bonfieglie
Age in 1910: 37
Estimated birth year: abt 1873
Home in 1910: 1-Wd Adrian, Lenawee, Michigan
Race: White
Gender: Male
Image Source: Year: 1910; Census Place: 1-Wd Adrian, Lenawee, Michigan; Series: T624; Roll: 660; Page: 11A; Enumeration District: 43;
Part: 2; Line: 9.

I hope this helps,
Trish
