Hi dusty43,

Welcome to the forum.

The more info you can provide, the more we can help!

Are you looking for US or Italy or both information?

Can you provide ages? Immigration year? Did your great grandparents come or James?

Waiting for your reply.......

So that research is not duplicated, could you be more specific in your request.....what documents have you researched already?.....and as jc asked, are you looking for Italian records or US records?

I have checked both surnames used, AGLIOZZI and LIOUTZA......
I can not place them on a surname map of Italy or find any address of either surname in Locri, Reggio Calabria. I am not a name expert, that is Suanj's expertise, but perhaps the name has been mispelled.

The Lds has not microfilmed civil registration for Locri, If you are sure of the birthplace I would suggest for you to write a letter requesting info on your ancestor.

Ufficio di Stato Civile
Comune di Locri
89044 - Locri - RC
Italy

If you are unable to write in Italian, here is a link to translate your letter.

My father is from Locri and I do remember the surname Agliozzi from my research. I will try to locate my older records and see what I can come up with. I'll also check with my family to see if anything rings a bell. I'm sorry I couldn't be more specific now.

dusty43,

Did you say you already found the ship manifest for your relative? If so, could you link the image or at least provide the details to how it was indexed? I would like to see it.
