Romanin

Postby Laraaa » 02 May 2006, 10:59

I recently got an Italian citizenship and I am trying to help a good friend to get his.

All the information we have is that his great grandfather (Italian ancestor) name was Gaetano Romanin (or Caetano - not sure). He got married in Italy with Catarina Brandolezi. They had some kids in Italy (Francisco, Libra, Palmira and Izeta), then they all went to Brazil in Sao Paulo.

I know this is not much information, but that is all we have.

We need to find Gaetano Romanin birth certificate and also the marriage certificate.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you very much.

Lara

Talk to member "mier," but I think your friend can only get it if his father was an Italian citizen.

Romanin is a surname typical of north-east Italy (Veneto or Friuli), where many surnames end with -in or -on

You may see its present diffusion here:

Dear Lara,
I suggest your friend to get any informations about her Romanin ancestors like passport, manifest ship, social security death index, marriage application and record, naturalization record, death record and cemetery record.
All the Romanin arrived to Ellis Island, are from Udine province, so I suggest your friend to request military record and draft card (where there is written right date and place of birth, useful to localize birth and marriage record) to Archivio di Stato di Udine

good luck

Dear Lara
My name is Fabiana.
I have the passport of their original ancestral Gaetano di Paolo Romanin and his wife Catherine Brandolese, with his daughters Palmira and Ludovica.
Some years I have searched to find the Italian citizenship, but so far not had success.
We know that they left on 26/06/1895 bound for Sao Paulo - Brazil.
Sorry for the English.
