Hi cs206

There was a posting a few weeks back 'OK DNA says my Grandfather is Italian now what?' which had a similar sounding name in it. It might be worth reading. It was posted by 'shari' It could possibly be the family of the man whose manifest you found - but then again it might not! You have come to the right place. There are lots of great people here who will do their utmost to help you.

Good luck

Hi carlo, about Giuseppe, he joining to Luigi Seccavigna in NYC; previous also Rosato and Luciano came in USA, always NYC; in 1912 Rosato back in Italy, and again in USa, but in Bridgeport, Connecticut...
I no found nobody Seccavigna in NYC censuses, this for the search mentioned above from Marisa;
also is possible that after NYC as first destination, the Seccavigna came in other state, perhaps Connecticut; in facts are:

Giuseppe came back in Italy abt 1913, because in Jul 21, 1913, he travelled again in USA, contact in Italy Elide wife in Ischia di Castro, and joining to Rosato brother in Bridgeport Connecticut... birthplace are Artena town... so the search must be in connecticut, but no records and I think that the surname perhaps mistaken....

Hi there,

Here is a the link for the manifest that you mentioned above. Giuseppe is left his brother, Luciano, in Italy (I need another set of eyes to make out the name.) Giuseppe was going to go see his cousin, Luigi Seccavigne in New York.

I also found a Luciano coming into the USA in 1906 going to see his brother, Rosato (need another set of eyes here for the name). Here is the link to the manifest.

Per the year of birth mentioned on the ship's manifest you posted for Giuseppe Seccavigne (b. abt. 1887), I believe this is Giuseppe Seccavigne in the 1910 census. Also living with him is Michele (b. 1892), Rosato(Bosato) (b. 1893), and Ferdinando (b. 1891).

Also per this cenus, Giuseppe came to the USA in 1906, Michele came to the USA in 1906, Rosato came to the USA in 1905 and Ferdiando came to the USA in 1905. They were all considered Alien.

Name: Joe Secaviegna
Age in 1910: 21
Estimated birth year: abt 1889
Home in 1910: Cabin Crk, Kanawha, West Virginia
Race: White
Gender: Male
Image Source: Year: 1910; Census Place: Cabin Crk, Kanawha, West Virginia; Series: T624; Roll: 1684; Page: 196B; Enumeration District: 53; Part: 1; Line: 18.

I hope this helps for now,

I'm still looking

Hi again,

I found another ship's manifest. It's for Rosato Seccavigne coming to see his brother, Giuseppe. Rosato left his wife, Sabia Campasi in Italy.

Rosato( Silvia CAMPARI wife) came
