Searching Anselmetti

Postby leigharnold » 06 Jun 2006, 18:45

I have in my possesion the passport of my late grandfather (Anselmetti, Gian Domenico) who was born in Palazzo Canavese (in the Province of Turin) on 24 August 1878. I have in the passport the names of his parents.

My grandfather moved to the UK sometime after 1903 where he died during the second world war.

Please can someone direct me in the right direction as to how I can follow up with this information and where/what I should be looking at.

Thanks for any assistance.

Leigh

Hi & welcome to the forum,

As suanj states above, you can write or fax the comune for his birth act.

You can also trace the family through LDS (Mormans) films of the church records for this comune that are from 1641 to 1899.

Here is a link to the available films.

And here is a link to locate your nearest LDS-Family History Center.

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... et_fhc.asp

You rent (for abt. $5.75 per month) the films & once they come into your local FHC, you can view & copy any reords you need. You can renew the rental for the same price for another month & if you renew the 3rd time, the film will stay at your FHC.

Hope this helps.

Firstly, thank you to all those who have replyed to my post above. The information provided is much appreciated. I will follow up on this shortly.

To answer Marisa's question above, my Grandfather died in Holben, North London during the war. I think I might have his death certificate around somewhere. Hope this answers your question.

Leigh
