DeGiusti Family

Post by mlaneokc »

I am trying to find some information about the DeGiusti family. I know that my granfather was born in St. Paul, MN and that his parents were from I believe Conegliano, Italy (the DeGiusti family) and his mother was from Fontanelle, Italy (the Bottega family). If anyone has any information that may be helpful it would be appreciated.

Hi & welcome to the forum,

Pease answer the following questions.

What US records do you have on the families? Birth certificates? Marriage records? Death certificates? Census records? Other? Just so we don't duplicate research already done!

Do you know the 1st names of ancestor from the two families who came to the US" When? Did they originally settle in MN or someplace else?

Can you also provide 1st names & year of birth and death?

Will start looking, but also waiting to hear from you.

Is this the correct family? If you need a copy of this census record, we can post a link to it.

1930 Census-St.Paul, MN
Angele De Giusti Angela De Giusti St Paul, Ramsey, MN abt 1884 Italy Head
Angela De Giusti St Paul, Ramsey, MN abt 1893 Wife
Dominick De Giusti St Paul, Ramsey, MN abt 1911 Son
Anginia T De Giusti St Paul, Ramsey, MN abt 1918 Daughter
Francis De Giusti St Paul, Ramsey, MN abt 1920 Son
Clarence De Giusti- same-abt 1922-son

This census shows that Angelo came in 1910 & is naturalized. They have a foster daughter, Evelyn Rigoni age 11 MN, living with them.

Let us know.

I live around Conegliano and Fontanelle.
If you will be VERY patient and if you 'll give me ore information (year of birth at least) I could be helpful.
You 've to be patient because I'm helping two other users and first I've to finish with them.

Okay here's what I know:

My grandfather was Italo Romeo DeGiusti born 1/14/21 died 7/27/98 his parents were Emilio Luigi DeGiusti born 2/22/1892 i believe in Conegliano, Italy and Giovanna Candida Bottega born 6/24/1899 i believe in Fontanelle, Italy. I believe that my great-grandmother had a brother named Luigi Bottega who lived in Collione.

My grandfather was the oldest of four boys, Angelo, Oghi , and Tino (Valentino)

the men were all terrazzo workers and continued the trade in the United States when they came here.

I believe the information in the post above

De Giusti/Bottega

child Valentino De Giusti, 8, b in Minneapolis Minn 27 Feb 1927
child Oghi Antonio De Giusti, 3 (abt 1933), naturalized - by father citizenship

to be true.

Thanks to everyone in advance for all of your help.
