Hi Mike, (good-hearted)

You say "I have lots more info..."

Is there something specific you are looking for? It would save us time to look and give us better direction...

Do you need census records, manifests... WW1 info...

If you need info, please provide full names and year of birth of the people you need info about...

Sure... go for it! We know what your 2 cents is like!

Thank you for the link to Mike's webpage!

I can't tell you how nice it is to see a photograph of Raffaele!!

I spent a bit of time looking for his ship record.... no luck yet...

Nice 1920 Census record vj.

I too looked for this census record ... but gave up :? and thought I would keep looking for his ships record instead...
possible 1920 US Census

- BONIKIA, Ralph, 40 (abt 1880), immig 1903 Pa, caster - casting shop

So at this point... the 3 census records say....

Raffaele - immigration 1902, 1902 and 1903 (good)

Florence - immigration 1899, 1889 (?) 1910 (not so good...)

P.S. am currently looking for this record...

Maria, good morning, and thanks for the compliments - all practice from following yours and other's expert advice on this site!

Mike, really, great webpage - great detail & wonderful pictures!

I think I have 1899 Pappacoda manifest (info from Castle Garden site)
I'll try to link from Ellis Island, having trouble matching names from Castle Garden to Ellis
update: appears that Ellis Island doesn't have part of this manifest - went page by page of manifest for Patria 29 Apr 1899, pages missing after frame 339... (microfilm T715 59 105)
vj

Note: without actual manifest page, can't confirm relationships
This is the Castle Garden search page used for the following:
http://www.stevemorse.org/ellis/cg.html
from Amalfi going to Brooklyn (may have related 1910 census)
Antonio Demartino Farmer 4 M 29 Apr 1899 Italy Patria
Assunta Demartino Laborer 14 F 29 Apr 1899 Italy Patria
Florinda Demartino Farmer 10 F 29 Apr 1899 Italy Patria
Marianna Demartino Laborer 17 F 29 Apr 1899 Italy Patria
Rachele Demartino Laborer 37 M 29 Apr 1899 Italy Patria
Rosina Demartino Farmer 11 F 29 Apr 1899 Italy Patria
prob not related...
from Amalfi going to New York
Vincenzo Papparodio Laborer 26 M 29 Apr 1899 Italy Patria

PAPPACODA
possible 1910 US Census from ancestry.com
Manhattan Ward 6, NY, NY
Mott Street
- Andrew Pathacoda, head, 25, married 3 yrs, immig 1899 Al, runs elevator - factory, rents
- Almgunda Pathacoda, wife 23, 2 children born/living, immig 1895
- Rachele Pathacoda, daughter, 2, b in NY
- Micholes Pathacoda, son, 1? mos, b in NY
- Micholo Pathacoda, father, 58, married 31 yrs, immig 1897 Al, retail merchant - cheese?, employer
- Rachell Pathacoda, mother, 48, 7 children born, 6 children living, immig 1899
- Antonino Pathacoda, brother, 16, single, immig 1899

Questions:
from Maria's notes on 1910 CT census (earlier post in this thread)
- is 'Rachell Pathacoda (Pappacoda)' also on the 1910 census in Waterbury, CT as 'Rachel Buonocore'?
- or is the 'Rachel Buonocore' in CT Raffaele Buonocore's mother?
- or is this census in NY an unrelated Pappacoda family?
vj

and related manifest?

SS Olympia, 25 Mar 1895, Naples to NY
PAPPACODA, Nicola, 45, sailor

Hi Mike,

You may have already seen this website, but thought I'll link it anyway. Has pictures of Amalfi, its history & links to more.

http://www.italyworldclub.com/campania/ ... amalfi.htm

Also, here is a link to the webpage for the office that has the town's vital records....an email address is provided.

http://www.comune.amalfi.sa.it/sezione.asp?IDS=8

Hope this helps.

Am converting this manifest file to post... back soon.

Maria

Maria,
Great manifest, - thanks! :)
Looks like all the DeMartino's are related (mother & children)
Shame it took the long way around to get to them on Ellis Island!
Waiting to hear from Mike to see what else he may need (besides manifests)...

Hi Valarie.. it is a great manifest... when I read the passenger info you discovered, I thought it should be linked too... sometimes those pages are not easy to work with...

While going through some of the pages, I found a person of interest for someone else here at the forum... just forgot to send it to her....

Hope Mike does come back here... but I think he will... he's serious about his research... maybe away for the holidays...

Happy 4th of July!

(another two cents - 10 cents canadian  )

BUONOCORE
Can't resist manifests, so much information!

Raffaele's sister & brother?
- with address for Raffaele in 1905
- and possible uncle Leopoldo DeMartino living at same address
- both travelling w/cousin?

SS Prinz Adalbert 12 Jul 1905 Naples to NY, lines 27-29
http://ellisisland.org/EIFile/popup_wei ... &line=0028

BUONOCORE Luisa, 29, single
BUONOCORE Antonio, brother, 18, single
last residence Amalfi Salerno, joining brother Raffaele BUONOCORE in New Haven, CT at 280 Wooster St

next line
NACLIERO? Michele, (no relationship noted) 18, single
last residence Agerola joining uncle Leopoldo DeMartino in New Haven, CT at 280 Wooster St

Maria - suns finally out, gotta prune!
Later, vj
