Farino/Santelia

Postby Wanda » 01 Nov 2006, 13:23

I an looking for the Farino/Farina side of my family. Through this site my cousin has found our Santelia side now I would like to find my Farino side. My Grandfather was Nicholas Peter Farino (4-10-1884), his parents were, Paschal Farino and Magdelina Caldarone. Grandpa's siblings were, Anthony, Virginia and a twin brother whose name was I believe Nicholas Paul all three siblings had the last name Farino/Farina. The vague information that I have found is in the 1910 & 1020 Arkansas Census. I would appreciate any information that anyone can provide.
Thank You, Wanda Harrison

Hi all, the right surname of Maddalena is CALDERONE and the town is CARUNCHIO in Chieti province; for all civil records you can write:
Ufficio di Stato Civile
Via municipio, 2
66050 Carunchio (Ch)
Italy or to send a email

anagrafe_carunchio @ virgilio.it (NO SPACES)
regards, suanj

Wanda, My g-grandmothers second husband was Vincenzo Farina. I don't know much about him except he had a son names Peter born about 1928 in East Haven, CT. Peter married a German girl named Giesela and they had James, Peter Jr, Vincent and Karen.

I have Vincenzo (as James Farino) on the 1930 census in Connecticut or New York (it's at home and I can't see it) I think he was in his 40's at that time.

Are we related?
Simone

I have databased the Carunchio vital records as a hobby, and have a very good match for Pasquale Farina, born in Carunchio on 31 Mar 1836, son of Giustinantonio Farina and Vincenza Conti. He married Maddelena Caldarone in Carunchio on 21 Oct 1861. Maddelena Caldarone was born on 18 Nov 1843 in Carunchio, the daughter of Domenicantonio Caldarone and Grazia Conti.
Pasquale and Maddelena had a daughter Rachele Farina (later called Katie) in Dec. 1866, and son Domenicantonio Farina, born in March 1869, and daughter Palmarosa Farina, born on Feb 25, 1880. This family closely matches the info below, and other related info on Ancesty.com. I believe this family, later called Farino, are Carunchiese.
