Family History Centre Problems

Postby itye » 30 Nov 2006, 11:34

Ive been trying for weeks to contact my local FHC but they never answer the phone . I have tried faxing but still no reply.

Is there any other way to be able to view microfilm or order them ? Its getting really frustrating .

I want to order microfilm for San Mauro Forte but cant do so as nobody bothers to pick up the phone.

Please advise

Regards
VC

You may have to try phoning another FHC around your area and ask why they won't pick up the phone.

Maybe they closed down... I know where I am, 2 FHC had closed down just within months of each other...

Call your local public library and ask if they have microfilm readers... some libraries that do have microfilm readers can order FHC film...

Always best to phone and ask, sorry to hear that you are having a hard time with your FHC...

You might find you have to actually go the the family history center. I don't think many will not let you order film over the phone as you have to pay the rental fees prior to the order.

The amount of help available will vary greatly according to the size of the center and the skill level of the volunteer. There is a small FHC near my home. They are very nice and friendly. But, it is self service with very little help other than ordering films.
