suanj wrote:maybe the friends with ancestry subscription can help... however you Giuseppe could be stayed in New York

Did this mean that Giuseppe is still alive and probably still in New York?
if so, what's Giuseppe's surname. I live in Brooklyn, so I could
be of help if someone needs me.

Re: Question

Postby johnmilano » 13 Feb 2007, 18:10

could any of these be him?

SAVINO, GIUSEPPE
Birth: 8 Jan 1895
Death: Aug 1976
Last Known Residence: Elmira, New York 14901

SAVINO, GIUSEPPE
Birth: 2 Mar 1895
Death: 28 Mar 1989
Last Known Residence: Bronx, New York 10462

SAVINO, GIUSEPPE
Birth: 9 May 1910
Death: 7 Feb 1997
Last Known Residence: New York, New York 10044

or, outside of New York:

SAVINO, GIUSEPPE
Birth: 25 May 1895
Death: Feb 1981
Last Known Residence: Chicago, Illinois 60615

the question is if he got his citizenship, which in turn would have
given him a SSN (Social Security Number) which would have
more info.

there is this information from the Ellis Island Passenger records:

First Name: Giuseppe
Last Name: Savino
Ethnicity: Italy, South
Last Place of Residence: Gerace
Date of Arrival: Jun 01, 1905
Age at Arrival: 21y Gender: M Marital Status: S
Ship of Travel: Lombardia
Port of Departure: Naples
Manifest Line Number: 0015

(this would match your birth date for him of 1884)

here's the ship's manifest:

if he did get his citizenship
I would think he would have gotten it in 1905 when
getting off at Ellis Island, in which this could be him
of which I found from Eastern District Naturalization Records:

Family Name: Savino
Given Name: Giuseppe
Year: 1905
Petition Volume: ?
Petition Number: 103
Soundex: S150

otherwise, any of these could be him:
