translation help

Postby johnmilano » 13 Feb 2007, 17:44

Hi,

I found this written on the back of a picture of my
great grandfather and a (unidentified) friend.
I'm not sure if my great grandmother Antoinette wrote
it, or if my great grandfather (Cosimo Aiello) wrote it:

any help?

this is the front of the picture:

Cosimo Aiello (left)

any help would be great
thanks,
JOHN

It looks like an address. 30 Duglosse (maybe Douglas) St and then a name...Cirrincinni Pietro?

Is there such a street near near where your grandfather lived? Maybe you could check into it. It may just be where the picture was taken.

I'll look into it. Anything on the above in blue ink?

Not sure what it would mean. Hopefully someone else can help. Now, I know you didn't ask for this but I couldn't resist. Just learning how to use my photo imaging program so I used your grandfathers picture as a "pilot" if you will. Hope you don't mind. If you do, then I'll remove it.

There is a Douglass Street in Brooklyn. Name could be Pietro Cirrincione. There's a few Cirrinciones listed in whitepages.com

Nuccia,

I don't mind, it looks good! amazing.

Biff,

yes there's a Douglass street, and that could very
well be where it was taken. and the name seems
to be Pietro Cirrincione, so it must have been a friend
of his. Any ideas of the above in blue ink ?

thanks!
JOHN

I can't make out the first full word but could what I think is giacco sono io translate as "I am the jacketed one" or "I am the one in the jacket"?
"To dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free, silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands"
