I have a baptismal certificate that refers to the child's mother as: "Ducci Maria di Giuseppe corana." I have not seen the word corana before. Does anyone know what it means in this context? Thanks for your help.

The word 'corana' doesn't exist in any dictionary, but derivitives of the word 'corano' refer to the Koran, so that is highly unlikely to be a link.

However there are it seems 27 people with the surname CORANA in the Italian Phone Book - see link here

You may want to pursue you search along this avenue!
