Can anyone find the origin of...

Postby uther » 16 Jun 2007, 00:42

Josephine (Giussipina, Giussipine) Loschi. My genealogist and I are stopped right here. We cannot find her birth record, immigration record, or record of her maternal mother. It seems that this is a mystery. The details of what we know about her are below.

These locations are in Connecticut.

1910 Census – Apr. 19, 1910 138 Washington St. (boarders, no other Bianchis at this address)

Joseph Byanki 29 (born 1881) bowling alley
Josephine Byanki 23 (born 1887)

Married, no children (these are the parents of John, right below, even though his age changes
--------------------------------

Birth: Oct. 25, 1913 Thedea Bianchi 20 Daggett St.
Father: Giuseppe Bianchi 33 (born 1880) laundryman
Mother: Giuseppina Loschi 25 (born 1888)

(on her death cert there is no last name for the mother)

Birth: Oct. 29, 1917 Peter Bianchi 20 Daggett St.
Father: Giuseppe Bianchi 36 (born 1881)
Mother: Giuseffina Luski 29 (born 1888)

Looks like Thedea and Peter are siblings
Peter died Jan 9, 1996 (SSDI), last payment in Hamden, died in New Haven; wife Mary
Look at his death cert to see name of mother

There is one more child, Joseph, born abt 1921 – look him up; he may still be alive in fact
---------------------------------------------------------

This is all we have. My goal is to find Josephine's mothers name. If anyone would like to take a stab at this, please do. James, VJ, we need a miracle to find this data. :!:

Thank you very much suanj. Pietro Loschi is listed as the father of Josephine (Giuseppina) Loschi. Her mother's name is of question also. She is listed as a Biraldi, and her first name is unknown. The Josephine in question would be the one married to Joseph I (1920 Census) father of Tidera (Thedea). This woman Josephine Loschi seems to have used another name Josephine (Giuseppina) Biraldi.

This is the problem we have. Josephine (Giuseppina) Biraldi married to Joseph Bianchi I, seems to have used also Giuseppina Loschi on birth certificates for children, and at her marriage. Her children would be John, Peter, Tidera or (Thedea) and Tillie in 1930 census.

Josephine's husband Joseph 1 owned Russo's bowling alley in Connecticut.

We just cannot find birth record of her, or immigration record. Like I said before, she may have used her mothers maiden name Biraldi before Loschi.

This is a big problem for us to figure out suanj.

suanj, if you look at that draft card, you will see that she lists her name as Proselpina, Prosperina LOSCHI Bianchi. This is the wife of Joseph 1 who is my great grandfather. They did not get married until a month after this. This woman we think, is Josephina Loschi. All records and dates match her. Even the death record of Joseph 1 and Josephine (1940) match her father and mother. This is all a very big mystery. If you want, I can list what the genealogist sent me. It is not finished, just preliminary.
