Postby ricbru » 19 Jun 2007, 14:27

Hello listers,
I just want to let you know that I'll be in Trapani for the first 3 weeks of August.
If anyone need research for any civil, church and military records for the town and the province of Trapani,
just let me know
bye Riccardo

Hi Ric,

YESSSS... I could use your assistance, if it is not too much trouble!

I can get you more precise info than I have right now, since I am at work & my genealogy research is at home...

My grandfather was MARIANO or MARIO ASCOLI, born around 1900 in BALESTRATE. I had previously been told he was born in ALCAMO, since that is where he grew up & lived before he emigrated to New York, but have since had reason to believe he was actually born in the town of Balestrate instead, which is nearby to Alcamo.

I am not exactly sure from memory, but I was trying to find out his mother's full name, since I only know her first name was MARIA. I think his father's name was GIUSEPPE.

I posted my initial search info on this site, in case you want to look up my previous posts on this topic.

As I said, I can get you some additional & more precise info when I get home & look at my paper files.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for your kind offer of assistance!!

Hello Riccardo,

If it is possible I would greatly appreciate if you could locate any records for Girolamo Arceri DOB 1825 in Trapani I believe he died bet. 1860-1886.

Francesca Bianco DOB 1831 Date of Marriage bet. 1847-1849 to Girolamo Arceri. She died I believe in the early 1900's also in Trapani.

Any information on them would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much,

Melissa

If you come across any ARITTA or GARITTA while you are there, I'll take it!

My maternal great grandfather (Joseph/Guiseppe) came from Trapani as well as some cousins anf they settled in Connecticut USA.

We were told some people had the "G" dropped when they came to US, so GARITTA became, ARITTA...this line is one of my dead ends.
Always looking for info on: Gallo, Perillo, Stelatto, Morganelli, Cutarelli, Aniello/Aiello, Langella, Garitta/Aritta, Hayward, Nicolson & will be happy to swap info too!

Riccardo is in Trapani right now on vacation, I am not sure if he is checking this forum.

Hopefully!
