Hello and Welcome to the Forum!
Do you already have all your US records?
If not, let us know what we can help with  .

Cosimo had a son named Joseph?
Born in Alimena Palermo Sicily?

Have you looked into the Family History

They do have civil records from Alimena on microfilm
that you can rent for a very small fee.

This might be a coincidence but there was a Cosimo aka Frank Guerra on the Faranda thread. He had a daughter named Rose who married an Alberto Faranda. Cosimo's wife was named Madalena. His 1920 census states immigration year as 1900, age 62.

From the Cleveland Obituary file:
Id#: 0128079
Name: Guerra, Madalena
Date: Mar 7 1945
Source: Source unknown; Cleveland Necrology File, Reel #032.
Notes: Guerra, Madalena, wife of the late Cosimo, mother of Sam, Peter, Joseph, Rose Faranda, and Sara Peck, grandmother and great-grandmother, entered into rest Monday, March 5. Funeral from J. J. Vanek Inc. Funeral Home, 12705 Union ave., Thursday, March 8, at 9 a. m. and St. Cecilia's Church 10 a. m. Burial Calvary Cemetery.

Faranda Topic

Is this Cosimo Guerra the correct person?

Cleves,
If you are looking for any other US records, the 1920 and 1930 census for Cosimo and family is on the previously referenced Faranda Thread.

Here's WWI information on sons Pietro and Giuseppe.
WWI Service Information

And here's the 1901 ship manifest for Cosimo Guerra's wife Madalena Abbate and children Salvatore, Pietro, Giuseppe and Rosa. Lines 6-10.
Last residence--Alimena, Palermo, Sicily
Destination--Hackensack NJ to join husband/father Cosimo Guerra

Are there birth dates avaiable for the children of Cosimo and Madalena Guerra. Rose was my Mother but she was born in Cleveland, Ohio, which makes me think that the"Rosa" listed on the manifest died soon after arriving in the United States.

Ray,
I agree with you. I believe Rosa on the manifest passed away and that your mother was the second Rosa born to Cosimo and Madalena.

If you check the WWI Source Information it states that Giuseppe was born 1 June 1896 and that Pietro was 26 1/2 years old when he enlisted which would make his birthdate April, 1892.

It appears that we've found the US records which are available. If you want to find additonal information on the Farandas and Guerras, you'll need to write to the comuni of Sinagra and Alimena to request birth and marriage records or to check what, if anything, LDS has for the towns. Let us know if you want to proceed further and we'll help with your next steps.

Best,
Biff
