Andrew(Charles) Sabini

Post by karenhicks »

Hello

My name is Karen Hicks and I am from Cardiff in Wales,UK. My Great-Great-Grandfather was Andrew Sabini (also known as Charles Sabini) who was born in Italy around 1859(possibly Palma). I believe his father was Peter Sabini (b: c1837?) but I do not have any information on his mother.

Andrew moved to London England and married Catherine Craddock in 1880.

I would love to trace back further than this but have hit a brick wall!!

Any help would be great!

Hi Karen
I looked up www.familysearch.org to find out if films giving information about births deaths and marriages were available for 'Palma' but nothing came up. but when I searched on the map for Palma it came up as Palma di Montechiaro
I'm not sure if this is the 'Palma' you mentioned. but there are some films available for Palma di Montechiaro and some of the films include the dates you mentioned
this is the link

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... ato+civile++

If you have never used these films before you can order them at your nearest Family History Centre (cant remember how much you pay to order a film but its very reasonable)and you have to go there to view them. (the information is in Italian) the staff there are usually very helpful.

This is the link to find your nearest FHC scroll to the bottom and fill in where you live.

If I've got the name of the place wrong maybe someone else can help please.

I believe that the right birthplace is Parma and no Palma... so or parma town or some common in Parma province, regards, suanj

The Sabini's from the London area came from Sicily, they mainly lived in Clerkenwell an area with a big Italian population from Parma..
