Brambilla connections from Cremona, Italy

Postby wedw32004 » 27 Oct 2007, 23:22

I am trying to get some Itialian connection to the following:

Lorenzo Brambilla married Maria Zonaboni

It is believed that Lorenzo was born in 1856 in Cremona and died in 1939 in Smithtown, Suffolk Co., Long Island, New York.

They had 11 children:

Rose [Rosero]
Frank [Fraqesco]
Leo Peter [Dino]
John Anthony [Geovanne]
Ann [Anna]
Lena [Pellegrina]
Emma
Mary [Maria]
Joseph John [Geoseppe]
Angelina
Louie J.[/align]

If anyone knows anything about this family it would be very appreciated if you would contact me a wedw3genealogy@bresnan.net.

MJ,
Here's the second page with the last two lines of the first page visible:

Nice find on the manifest for Lorenzo. I can't make out the last residence but I believe it shows he was in the US before.

There's another person on the site that has been looking for information on Brambilla's.

Her name is Gina and here is her web page. You can email her through that, or watch for a post on your thread from her.

Handwriting is terrible, but it could be Cremona. Going to father and father paid his way. Can we find an earlier census?

Can we find an earlier census?

Based on the ages and places of birth of the children, it looks like the family may have been in Italy for the 1900 census. It also appears that the family lived in New Jersey for a couple of years after their marriage in Manhattan before returning to Italy.

Might be able to locate a census for wife Mary since she was born in New York.
