Postby Dianeb » 17 Nov 2007, 16:56

I am trying to obtain my great grandparents birth and marriage certificates. I found a website on Palma campania to request them however my e-mail could not be sent to the address posted on the site. Any suggestions?

Hi Diane and welcome to the forum. Just want to make sure of Palma Campania. There are other Palma's or close variations in Italy. Let me know if you're positive that it's Palma Campania.

Palma Campania, province: Napoli - region: Campania
Palma di Montechiaro, province: Agrigento - region: Sicilia
Palmanova, province: Udine - region: Friuli Venezia-Giulia
Palmariggi, province: Lecce - region: Puglia
Palmas Arborea, province: Oristano - region: Sardegna

Regards,
Elizabeth

Hi Diane,

This link is something I thought you might like to read.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palma_Campania

You need to locate your nearest Family History Center (FHC) - here is the link
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... et_fhc.asp

Next look at the film listed for Palma, write down the number and description of the films you want to view, go to the FHC and order. The cost is abou $5.50 per film and the film has to be viewed at the FHC. Here is the film link.

Hope this helps.

Dear Elizabeth,

I went ro the Family Search link you sent me however it only lists birts and marriages up to 1865 and Alessandro Giovanni Nappo was born in 1868 and married in 1889. and I don't know what the word "Processetti"means. I also know that Alessandro's grandfather was referred to as "Commissare" Nappo.

Hi Diane,

That was the best LDS had for films for your search.

I think you should try the email address that suanj posted. Compose what you would like to say in English and on this site there is a forum for translation. When you post explain what you're trying to do and then post what you have composed. Ask someone to please translate to Italian for you. After it is translated copy paste it into your email to

comune @ palmacampania.com (NO SPACES)

And send. The response you receive will be in italian - just post it to the translation forum and one of the members will give you an accurate translation of the response.

Post back if you have any questions.

Hi Elizabeth

Oops I thought it was the sme e-mail address that I used but its not, so I'm sending it now in Italian. I used the translator tool. I'll let you know if I get a reply. I know I did the same for my grandparents in Sanza, and within a week I received an e-mail with their marriage certificates attached.

Thanks
Diane :D

Hi Diane,

For some reason I have trouble sending emails through someone elses site too......either they never get them or it tells me it can't be sent. If I type it in myself using my own email (I use AOL) instead of the sites (which is usually outlook) it seems to get through fine.

Post back and let us know if you get a response.

Good luck.

Diane,

It's on the home page when you first sign on to this site. Scroll down past genealogy, locations etc. Here's the link to get you there.
