I am looking for more information regarding my great grandfather antonio gigliotti.

what i know he was born on 7 Feb 1885. died Jun 1967. resided in W Middlesex, Mercer, Pennsylvania. he came to america as a teenager from calabria with an uncle who was in the tallarico family. he fathered my grandmother elizabeth bailik (maried name) and she mothered my father, john a. bailik.

what i am looking for is whether or not he was still an italian citizen, if so, i qualify for dual citizenship.

please help with any info.

he stated in 1918 that he had begun
the naturalization process (declarant)
Valarie

Pa, filed 1st papers
(prob in WV)

1930 census

- WV or PA?

From the Expats in Italy site:
“First, you must determine whether or not you actually qualify for jure sanguinis.
Below is a list that should get you started then log onto
www.italiandualcitizenship.com/ for more in depth information:

- Your father was an Italian citizen at the time of your birth and you never renounced your rights to Italian citizenship ...

- Your mother was an Italian citizen at the time of your birth, you were born
AFTER January 1, 1948 and you never renounced your rights to Italian citizenship.

- Your father was born in the USA, his father was an Italian Citizen at the time of
his birth and neither you or your dad renounced your rights to Italian Citizenship.

- Your mother was born in the USA, her father was an Italian Citizenship when
she was born and you were born AFTER January 1, 1948 and neither of you
renounced your rights to Italian citizenship,

- Your paternal or maternal grandfather was born in the USA, your maternal
or paternal GREAT grandfather was an Italian citizen at the time of his/her birth,
neither you nor your father/mother nor you grandfather/grandmother ever

Looking at the papers closer - 1920 census, he has PA written, meaning 1st papers filed, and in line 15, it is blank, stating to me that he wasnt naturalized yet.

in the 1930 census, he has NA, naturalized. i will check with family to see what year exactly, if they know? maybe my aunt has his naturalization paperwork?

My great great grandfather was Antonio Gigliotti. He was from Calabria but he never came to the US, but his son Pasquale did.
