Conti Family from the grfagnana area of nothern tuscany

Postby robbiec » 15 Dec 2007, 12:06

Hi there
I am trying to find out about my relations from the above area. I have traced my roots back to a village in the area called Riana, it is near Barga.
I would love to hear from anyone who knows about the Conti's from that area prior to the 1850's

Thanks in Anticipation
Robbie Conti

Here is the town that you probably are looking for. it is called Castelnuovo di Garfagnana in the province of Lucca.

FHC has the civil records from 1866 to 1935, but you are looking for earlier records.

You might wish to explore www.Tiscali.it for the Castelnuovo di ..... which has an array of information about the town. It is in Italian. =Peter=
