Hi Valarie,

I have looked at this and it's looking pretty good. I will look at it deeper when i get home from work tonight. I am amazed again at how you find this stuff. Thanks for all your work on this. Blessings,

Terry

Terry, you're welcome :D !

We hope you can make some connections with these records.
They may jog some memories.
You may have enough information to order some Vital Records
from CA.
CA Dept of Public Health

I have a question about finding marriage records. If I don't know what county a person married in can i still get a marriage cert?

Also, how can i start looking for information on my GGrandfather's parents in Italy? I am working the leads from the point of arrival to Ellis Island. I am going to check into the Astone family names in Fresno, Ca since this is where they all seemed to go.

I still would like the confirming information from Italy to begin that side of things.
Thanks

Terry,
According to the CA Dept of Vital Statistics:

" Public Marriage Records.
Certified copies of public marriage records are available from both the California Office of Vital Records
and the County Recorder’s Office in the county where the public marriage license was issued.
However, the Office of Vital Records is limited in its ability to search the records, and it can take
up to 2-3 years to obtain a certified copy from our office.
Therefore, we recommend that certified copies of public marriage records be requested directly from
the County Recorder’s Office"

I’d start with the most likely counties by ordering the microfilms at
your local Family History Center:

Example
Title:
Marriage records, 1856-1920
Authors:
#Fresno County (California). County Clerk (Main Author)
#California. State Board of Health (Fresno County) (Added Author)
Notes:
Microfilm of records located at the Fresno County Courthouse, Fresno, California.
Stand certificates of marriage are issued by the California State Board of Health.
Includes index.
Subjects:
#California, Fresno - Vital records
Format:
Manuscript (On Film)
Language:
English
Publication:
Salt Lake City, Utah : Filmed by the Genealogical Society of Utah, 1988
Physical:
on 15 microfilm reels ; 35 mm.

My Great Grand Father was Domenico Astone and he came to USA (Ellis Island) on Feb 27th 1902 at the age of 20. He was a single man and it appears he came alone. He departed Napoli and i think he lived in a village called Maschitan. Many family member moved to Fresno California from there. He married my grand mother here and her family was from Italy too. The last name for her was Masucci.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

Hi, my name is Angela Andia. my family's name is astone from Fresno CA. my father was chassis Richard andis, grandmother iris Elizabeth Montgomery astone. I've been trying to find family from my dad's side of the family but my grandmother and father are both decesed and I keep running into brick walls. everything in your post are sounding familiar. I know there was a Mary and Tony in the family and I know they came here in or around 1910. do you think the two astone's here could be from the same family? it sounds pretty valid since they all seemed to go to Fresno. thanks for any thoughts on this. Hello,
My name is Lindsay and I am the great granddaughter of Rosella Astone. If you're still looking for more information on our family, my Uncle has some wonderful information if you're interested. What is your name?
